Basil Health benefits and uses: 

Basil essential oil  is endurance providing, clears the mind and reliefs intellectual fatigue. Used in a vaporizer or  by direct inhalation Basil essential oil  clears the head, relieves intellectual fatigue and gives strength and clarity to the mind which makes it an excellent remedy for tired students, or people  working long hours behind a computer or during long drives.

The name Basil comes from the Latin Basileum  meaning royal or crown indicating how valued this plant was. In India it is considered a sacred herb. In Ayurvedic medicine Basil opens the heart and mind allowing in the energy of love and devotion, strengthening faith, compassion and clarity. Sweet Basil has also been traditionally used to sooth insect bites.

Basil essential oil  may be helpful in treating  nervous disorders and nervous exhaustion, hysteria and can support people who are vulnerable and indecisive.

As basil oil helps to reduce uric acid in the blood,  it’s helpful for people who suffer from gout or arthritis. People who suffer from arthritis generally just rub some basil oil onto the skin where the arthritis is causing issues

In the digestive system  Basil essential oil  with its  digestive, antispasmodic and  carminative action, can be helpful to relief nausea, vomiting, gastric spasms and hiccups.
